National Postal Museum Kiosk
Background
Apt contracted with Quatrefoil Associates to provide visual, interaction, and user interface design services and consulting for this revamped kiosk at the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum.
Inside the kiosk
This project was a complex mixture of HTML modules and Flash-based games. Our work included front- and back-end designs for a “must-sees” section that is updatable by museum staff through a browser interface.
Attract screen
Every kiosk needs an attract animation that loops when not in use. We provided a storyboarded animation concept for the kiosk that Quatrefoil produced in Flash.
Design consulting
We worked closely with Quatrefoil's designers, making site visits during the planning stage and participating in design presentations to the museum. The project was highly collaborative with both companies often sending design ideas back and forth.
