The 2005 report
Apt subcontracts with Creative Project Management for the design and production of CRS's annual reports. Because they are used for recruiting, the reports need to really sell the organization and the dedication of its staff. At the same time, we need to watch costs since printing is paid for by taxpayers. For the 2005 report we created two covers, a duotone photographic cover and a short cover on a toothy uncoated stock with a blind emboss of the logo.
Inside the 2005 report
The interior design picks up the short cover as a design element. This was a two-color report printed on cream stock which gives a rich, layered feeling to the book.
The 2007 report
For the 2007 report we designed a deceptively simple cover, a solid burgundy with a spot ultraviolet varnish. The varnish effect is dramatic and changes in character depending on the light. This was an inexpensive solution that delivered high impact.
Inside the 2007 report
Details make the difference. The 2007 report has a quiet, stately feel that is modern and approachable.
All the reports
The landscape format of all the reports provides continuity from year to year and gives us the freedom to experiment with paper, color, and printing effects.
